Colombia sweeps trios
titles
Colombia's Andres Gomez, Jaime Monroy and David Romero (men) and Paola Gomez,
Clara Juliana Guerrero and Sara Vargas (women) walked away the winners in
the trios events at the 19th Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
The other women's trio capped off the successful day by winning the bronze
medal.
Gomez, who shot the highest series of the day with 1336 (222,67 avg.) led his team to a 3782 pinfall total, an average of 210,11. Trailing by 35-pins to finish second were Benjamin Corona, Daniel Falconi and Alfonso Rodriguez, capturing the fourth medal for the Mexican men's team in the third event. Venezuela's Pedro Cardozo, Arturo Hernandez and Jose Lander earned bronze.
Colombia I felled 3594 and averaged 199,67 to lead Mexico's Maria Cornejo,
Iliana Lomeli and Maria Ramon by 32 pins. Colombia II with Maribel Castro,
Luz Adriana Leal and Margarita Roa secured the bronze medal with 3519 pins,
just one pin ahead of Costa Ricans Ghiselle Araujo, Maria Ramirez and Veronica
Riboldi.
